DIY gate pedal safety check

#1

I was thinking of building a little gate pedal using some momentary switches and a 9v battery. I was also wondering about using a toggle switch (constant 9v and an led lit in one position, off in other position).

I’m assuming this is ok, as the battery voltage is within the 10v range the 301 is expecting… but I’d rather not risk it without asking first.
Looking for confirmation that this won’t somehow go horribly wrong and fry my 301.

9V (via battery) is safe. Go for it. Just make sure you put a 1K resistor in series with the battery or else you will be shorting the battery to ground briefly every time you plug in your pedal.

Great, thank you!
