Often I need to scroll through the unit categories in the Chooser to find the specific one I need. The “Recent” category helps out a lot with this but it would be nice if it was persisted on reboot so I don’t need to scroll every time.
This might be complicated by the paste-buffer appearing there as well, but I wouldn’t mind losing those on reboot.
Alternatively a “Favorites” category could accomplish the same thing, but it’s less clear how to actually implement such a system.
PS: I may be biased since this is a major part of the unit development workflow…
Though @Joe ’s latest video gave me the idea for a work around which I didn’t try yet. I’m planning to to build a dedicated package for favorite units with favorite settings and call it something with some zeros at the beginning. Should show up at the top of the alphabetical category…
The part that gave me the idea Beginns around 12:05
A “Favorites” category is something I often wished for, and from a UI perspective it is the most intuitive system in this sort of environment. Instead of manually selecting favorites, it could be usage based, so a persistent “Recent” category would indeed be very effective!
Interesting thoughts here. Maybe persistent Recents plus a user configurable Recents max number of units? I agree that “Favorites” is very time and project dependent, for me anyway.
