New user needs help with problem with a gate and step setup

I am trying to setup two tracks to work together and timed together. They both have 30 steps One track will use all the 30 steps and the other will only use the 29th and 30th step. How can I setup this so the second track only counts the steps with no gate (which I have set to zero) and then uses the 29th and 30th steps which I have gate set to 1? As it is it now does not count the zeroed gates. I hope this makes sense.

This sounds like you have zeroed the step durations? Are you sure the step durations are the same between track 1 and 2?
