can anyone point me in the right direction on sample slicing, sequencing sampled slices and/or any type of slicing techniques?

Have you seen Joe’s tutorials over on the wiki? I see that these two touch on the Slice Editor:

http://wiki.orthogonaldevices.com/index.php/How_to_resample_a_single_cycle_waveform
http://wiki.orthogonaldevices.com/index.php/Solo_Trumpet_Performance

Also, the wiki entry on the Variable Speed Player has a lot of info although it is outdated now since it was written for v0.3.xx:

http://wiki.orthogonaldevices.com/index.php/ER-301/Variable_Speed_Player

The main differences between v0.3.xx are that zoom is now on the KNOBMODE button, and there are now sample editing, loop points and auto-slicing functions added.

I’m also trying to figure out how to get variable speed player to play at different slices of a sample. I have a 30 secone sample of drum hits. After slicing the sample I’d like the variable speed player to start on different slices to create a beat? Is this possible?

You have to assign a control to the slice parameter. Also you may have to change the behavior of the variable player to play just one slice. I think actually what you’ll really want to do is slice it up. Create as many sample players as you need for different slices then pick which slice for each player and then you can trigger all of them independently

I think that’s great idea. That is something I can do with my low level of experience with the ER301. Thank you!

Thank you Brian. I wasn’t able to find exactly what I was looking for but I was able to learn a few new things from Joe’s wiki tutorials which is great!
