Strike v2.0.0 - LPG/Filter/Envelope/Compressor/Etc

You nailed the Mangrove sound especially that soft sync- thankyou!

I agree - formant osc sounds really good. Great work :slightly_smiling_face:

Formant sounds fantastic. Iā€™ve never had a mangrove and now I want one.

Love Formant! Iā€™ve had Mangrove(s) in the past, but always found it a bit "one trick pony"ish. Very happy with the ER-301 unit, it does everything Iā€™d want from a Mangrove and sounds great.

Strike v1.2.0 (hub) is up!

Very excited for this new unit:

CPR
cpr
cpr-sub
cpr-scope

A stereo peak compressor with sidechain and optional auto makeup gain. Also includes outputs for gain reduction and a gate when the compressor is active.

CPR sets new standards both in graphics and user interface!
amazing work!!!

Hereā€™s a quick demo of CPR, https://photos.app.goo.gl/ucSa8fcTYhzb1LQq9

Here Iā€™m using the compressor on a drum loop, setting the ratio really high to squash the hell out of it and then using the reduction output to modulate the sample playback speed. I also use the compressors ā€œactiveā€ gate to re-trigger the sample. Finally I throw a triangle oscillator on the threshold to change it over time.

Tom that is just astounding- next level - pleasure overload

Strike v1.3.0 (hub) fast follow

One new unit and some small optimizations to CPR.

Lift
lift

A lowpass gate using a slew limiter envelope and a 6dB/oct filter.

I find the simplicity here very useful here to distinguish this from the Strike unit. Instead of an Arc type envelope it uses a slew limiter which behaves more like an ā€œanalogā€ style envelope. Instead of a 12dB/oct filter it uses a 6dB/oct filter which is much more subtle.

During testing Iā€™ve discovered quite a few practical uses for Lift:

  • Hold gate high and itā€™s simply a 6db/oct filter, easy peasy
  • Set release to zero and it becomes a track and hold (thanks to the filter)
  • Set a long attack time to naturally fade in the input signal
  • Use the active output from CPR to gate a signal smoothly

the Strike train cannot be stopped and Iā€™m riding it to the sky.

Hereā€™s a quick preview video of Lift as well as a new timed latch I just added to lojik:

Timed latch! Iā€™ve been wanting that for some time!

hey @tomf, I think i may have found a bug.

In Strike (the LPG unit itself), v1.3.1, any modulation sent to the rise or fall parameters seems to be converted into pulses. Iā€™ve tried sine oscs and i2c CV with similar results. The pulse width seems to vary depending on the frequency/length of the modulation.

Oh weirdā€¦ confirmed. Will fix asap.

Edit: Itā€™s a display bugā€¦ the branch view output is showing the EOF signal instead of the modulation signal. Seeing what can be doneā€¦
