Thoughts for an ER-101 MkII

I’ve had a 101 for several years now. It’s really cool

Here are a few thoughts about where a MkII version could go. Note that I don’t have a 102 yet.

  • An encoder for each parameter instead of selecting parameters with buttons. This would reduce the cognitive load when using the unit. Of course, as currently designed that would mean 10 encoders, so it might be good to have the less commonly used functions (loading a snapshot, say) under a “shift” button.
  • 4 buttons to switch tracks instead of using an encoder to switch tracks.
  • More than 16 snapshots (without needing the 102)
  • Would be nice to see the current note value on every track.

cheers!

Uh oh

Sure thing. I wish you continued success!

If you haven’t already, it might be worth looking at the Buchla 251e, which seems similar in spirit to the ER-101.

cheers!

not at all. would also love to see the nested loop points of the 251e or the independent clocking and addressing of the 249e
